Collection featuring several B&W pages of college-era strips of varying aesthetics.

"This book is a collection of small-press artists fresh out of college, most of whom have gone on to bigger and better things. The most famous of it's contributors is Chris Ware, who's Floyd Farland book came out at around the same time, although the 12 pages in here are far closer to his future work, and include the first appearance of his bean character (from Acme #2). One of these strips was reprinted in the Comics Journal #200, but the rest of it has never appeared anywhere else to my knowledge. It's unknown whether this or Farland was released first."

"The other big name in here is Scott Dikkers, who went on to help start up The Onion, and has been the managing editor for most of it's life. This book contains the first published appearance of his cult comic strip Jim's Journal. Also making an appearance is James Sturm, the award winning indie creator of The Golem's Mighty Swing and Fantastic Four: Unstable Molecules; Jay Rath, an award-winning Wisconsin editorial cartoonist, and J. Keen & Kathy Rathke, who appear to have disappeared from the radar."
